Concrete Faced Rock-fill Dam(CFRD) is a special type of dam, the deformations of rockfill and concrete face influence the stability and safety of CFRD in large extent. The deformation characteristics and analysis model are specially studied. The main contents are as follows:(1) The main influenc factors of rockfill deformation are analyzed.The deformation characteristics under these factors is studied.The rheology mechanism and rheology model are studied. The theory and solution of time-varying model based on multiple factors are put forward.The settlement models of rockfill under construction and operation are established.(2) The main influencing factors of concrete face deformation are analyzed.The deformation characteristic under these factors is studied. The mathematic expressions of temperature stress and dry shrinkage stress are deduced.The time-varying model based on multiple factors of concrete face stress is established.According to the effects of water stress and rockfill deformation on concrete face deflection, the space time-varying model based on multiple factors of concrete face deflection is established.(3) The constitutive models of CFRD are studied.the second development based on Marc is made.The step-by-step loading of rockfill dead load is realized. The subroutines of DuncanE—B model , rockfill rheology and water stress loading are programmed. The 3D FEM of CFRD is established.(4) According to Daao CFRD,the monitoring deformation characteristics of rockfill and concrete face are analyzed.Based on monitoring data,the rationality of time-varying model based on multiple factors is testified.The 3D FEM of Daao CFRD is calculated based on Marc and its subroutines,the deformation characteristics with and without rheology calculation of rockfill are analyzed.
