Analysis Of Pile Response Adjacent To Deep Excavation

Construction land in city has been consumed at a high speed because of urbanization. Now, more and more people focus on utilizing and constructing underground space in urban environment where land is scarce and buildings or other facilities closely spaced. Most of Excavations are carried out close to existing buildings and excavation induced soil movements maybe detrimental to nearby pile. Furthermore, soil movements acting on pile may damage existing buildings.In this instance, I study on nearby pile response due to deep excavation. Actually, this is something on passive pile problem. In this paper, I make a review of the passive pile study in the country and abroad in the first, then, study on the pile response near excavation, some aspects included as follows:1. based on displacement method: â…  Studying the soil movement distribution in excavation without pile;â…¡ Analyzing the pile response with soil movement boundary conditions;2. based on soil pressure method: â…  Simulating the soil pressure distribution of nearby pile in FEM method;â…¡ Transferring pile under soil movements to laterally loaded pile to study;3. Verifying the two methods in a project example. Making comparison and analyzing between computing results and measure results, pointing further study directions.
