Owing to the higher speed and heavier load of the train, railway track is more likely to be damaged, and the quantity of track maintenance is more and more. On the one hand, the trains become denser and the time for maintenance becomes less; on the other hand, the track is worn faster, but the data got from the track inspection car are not adequately analyzed to guide the maintenance practice efficiently. It is an urgent issue to be resolved how to analyze the limited dynamic inspection data efficiently so as to provide maintenance for and keep good quality of the track according to the real condition. Track quality is affected by many factors and has a fuzzy character and the track evaluation method is not reasonable without taking into consideration the character now. So the method using the fuzzy theory is presented to solve the problems which are a fuzzy character on the boundary and the continuity of track quality. By analyzing control and maintenance practice of the track irregularity in some countries, this paper points out each track geometric irregularity has different influence on the track. Meanwhile, from the view of using the data of the track inspection car to maintain railway tracks, it points out it is necessary to take into account the weights of different track geometric irregularities and comfort degree. For this purpose, according to the function of present inspection car, by means of fuzzy synthetic evaluation method, a track evaluation system is established taking into consideration the geometric irregularity weights and comfort degrees, together with the experts weighting model establish by use of AHP method and fuzzy cluster analysis. Finally, a practical example is analyzed.
