CAE has been studied in the total design stage of motorcycle in this paper. Meanwhile, integrated performances of components and structural optimization have been realized in this paper while designing overall disposition and layout. Then vibration due to improper total design has been reduced. Therefore the integrated performance of motorcycle has been improved. These have been studied grounded on the project of National Natural Science Foundation (50375161)—"The reusable design theory and the method research based on the integrated product model"and Chongqing science & technology key project—"The intelligent development technical research of motorcycle products"based on finite element model. The main contents are as follows:①The finite element model of frame and integrated motorcycle have been established to analyze their performance in total design phase. According to experimental data and related standard, the finite element model of frame has been set based on its geometric model through simplified processing, selecting element, dividing mesh grids, load cases setting and putting characteristic etc. On the basis of this, the integrated finite element model of motorcycle has been established including frame, engine, suspension, wheel, rider and oil box etc.②To understand the relationship and dynamic property of frame and integrated motorcycle, mode analysis and frequency response analysis have been done. Then natural frequency and vibration data among common rotational speed of motorcycle have been got. The finite element model has been modified and validated through experimental mode test and integrated motorcycle vibration test.③Structural optimization of frame and integrated motorcycle has been finished to reduce vibration and improve integrated matched performance on the basis of established finite element model. Mathematical model of structural optimization has been set according to the data got from dynamic analysis. The thickness of plates, diameter and thickness of tubes, elastic and damp coefficient of front and back vibration absorber have been optimized in modified feasible direction method. Contrast with original motorcycle has been successively done.④The integrated matched dynamic performance of motorcycle has been optimized based on genetic algorithm to overcome the problem of variable early convergence and discrete optimization. Continual variable optimization has been done...
