Because of the need of many engineering applications, the numerical methods of the electromagnetic simulation have been increasingly developed. The transient scattering problem is one of the important and valuable projects. In this paper, the Time Domain Integral Equation (TDIE) method is applied to analyze the scattering characteristics of the targets. Firstly, the research background, significance and the study condition of the world are briefly introduced. Secondly, some basis of time domain method and frequency domain method are given. Finally, some TDIE models are developed to analyze transient scattering from one-dimensional (1-D), two-dimensional (2-D) and rough surface models, and they are computed numerically by using moment method with marching-on-in-time algorithm. The numerical results are analyzed in the end.The main works and results are as follows1. The time domain methods and frequency domain methods are introduced in this paper, including MOM, TDIE, FDTD, FETD, TLM and MOM-IDFT. The theory of TDIE method is emphasized. Transient problems are analyzed by these methods.2. Two-dimensional (2-D) models are established to analyze their transient scattering problems. TM incidence case and TE incidence case are separately discussed. The induced electricity and scattering far field of the different models are calculated.3. Three-dimensional (3-D) models are established to analyze their transient scattering problems. The induced electricity and scattering far field of the different models are calculated. The oscillation time is delayed by the average methods.4. 1-D rough surface models are constituted to analyze their scattering characteristics by TDIE method. The numerical result indicated that the TDIE method has preferable efficiency and veracity.
