A moving solid propellant aircraft always gives out an apparent plume. The plume is an important target of attacking and early warning. The ultraviolet radiation properties of the plume are the foundations of the UV warning technology, and they have become an important theory in the photo-electro detection and tracking field, such as warning, guidance, stealth, fuse and so on.In this paper, the radiation properties of a typical aircraft plume flow field are calculated. Firstly, the mechanism for UV radiation of the aircraft plume is built based on the physical description of the solid particles in the plume and the transport properties of ultraviolet radiation in atmosphere. Secondly, the flow field properties are obtained based on the computation model of the flow field. At last, the plume flow field radiation model in ultraviolet band is built founded on the results obtained above, and then the radiation is simulated using the spherical harmonics discrete ordinate method.The focus of this paper is the theoretical analysis and computer modeling of the flow field radiation of the aircraft plume. This work will give theoretical support to the simulation of the real measurement. |
