Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) is a new signal processing method for analyzing thenon-linear and non-stationary signal, but it still has some limitations that deeply influence thevalidity of analyse. First, this paper analyzes many simulative signals by Matlab, and thendiscusses the problem of illusive component due to HHT , uses the K-S test to recognise theillusive component, proposes the similarity probability between the IMFs and the signal as thestandard that whether a IMF is illusive or not, and gets the aim to exclude the illusivecomponent. The signal simulate test proved that this method to deal with the illusivecomponent has an obvious advantage and reasonability. Last, due to the mode confusion,wavelet transform is applied as the tool to pre-process. Combined with K-S test, the improvedHHT is builded, which is applied in faults diagnosis of gear and blower. The results prove thismethod's validity, and exhibit its foreground.
