A coupled field and circuit approach is developed in recent years. Basedon this method, the dynamic process of a skewed rotor induction motor is studiedin this paper and the influence of many nonlinear factors including saturation,skin effect and harmonic field are considered to make the analysis andcalculation more accurate.Based on the former literature and research of our work group, thetime-stepping FEM dynamic analysis model is deduced in detail at first and anew approach is obtained. Then FEM analysis software is designed based on MATLABand ANSYS. Since asymmetrical matrix equations are difficult to solve usingtraditional method, this program can settle this problem effectively. Finallystarting process of a 5.5kW inductor motor is calculated and studied using thissoftware and some valuable conclusions are obtained.
