The power system has the high dimension, the strong non-linear characteristic, themost traditional system analysis method are carried on under the static environment, orthe simpler systematic dynamic link, in this case , the unsafe conclusions are alwaysavailable . In this thesis, studies are made on the saddle-node bifurcation of voltagestability in power system based on bifurcation theory of the non-linear dynamics analysismethod. In this paper, the emphasis are using bifurcation theory to research the effects ofload characteristics and generator dynamic parameter on the voltage stability. WithIEEE-14points system as the example, we can get a conclusion that it is too optimisticthat the voltage stability abundance is assessed only according to static transmissionpower limit by comparison the non-linear bifurcation theoretical analysis, and the staticmethod can not evaluate the critical point of voltage accurately.
