Accordion pipe, a kind of cylindrical thin-wall case with cross directionwaviness, can be used as connection and compensation arrangement in pipe. Ithas so many good points such as good flexibility, low quality, goodpressurization, resistant and good heat resisting. It can connect and compensatepipe in any direction, and absorb the bounce, so it can denoise. Accordion pipe isnot only widely used in machine building industry, petrochemical industry,instruments and other projects, but also has big application field in aviation,space flight, sheep building, transportation and new style building trade.This paper tells us how to develop noise reduction V-shaped accordion pipeΩto reduce the noise of engine. The V-shaped accordion pipe has good stability,low rigidity and similar wave form with air pressure impulse compared with U,C, Ω and S shape accordion pipe. So it can better weaken the radiation andabsorb the bounce.In this paper, using optimization theory to get the best structural parametersfirst, and then make modal analysis, transient analysis and harmonic analysisbased on the mode set up with these structural parameters. From these analysis,the model of the vibration of the accordion pipe, the condition of displacechanger with temporal change and the steady state response of the accordionpipe with sinusoidal variation loads can be gotten. Then make another analysisabout the couple between fluid and solid. From this analysis, the more congruentdata can be got. These numerical simulations can give the topic numericalsupport and provide reference to the real production of accordion pipe.
