To determine the wave action on the cylindrical structures is of practical significance. The numerical simulation is used in this paper in order to study the wave action on the cylindrical structures. The chief achievements of the present paper are list below.Advancing front generation method of non-structural mesh is applied to subdivide the computational domain. The result is pretty good and the program of mesh subdivision can handle complex boundary conditions.Finite difference method and finite element method are used to solve the Boussinesq equations improved by Beji and Nadaoka. A FDM model and a FEM model are developed respectively. Wave deformation on different bathymetries is simulated. The 1 -, 2-dimensional models are tested by compare with the results of physical experimental model and show well agreement. The finite element model is applied to simulated wave reflection in front of large-diameter cylinder structure. The wave forces on a single vertical cylinder and 2 continues-cylinders are obtained. Then the results are compared with the results of physical experimental model and show good agreement. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Boussinesq Equations, Non-structural Mesh, FDM, FEM, Wave force, Cylindrical Structures | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
