The giant megnetostrictive materials(GMM) as new function materials have a wide range of potential applications in the future. With the progress of the research of GMM, the application of GMM is becoming interesting, and the design of magnetostrictive apparatus is the final purpose. Because of the relatively lag of the material structure and properties, the design method, control techniques, and deeper application for giant magnetostrictive apparatus are restricted. Testing the performance of the materials in apparatus has been an important part in the development of giant magnetostrictive apparatus. The traditional test methods make the test systems complex and huge, and dealing of the result is inconvenient.Therefore the paper designs a new test system, which is based on VI (Virtual Instrument), and is easy, convenient and inexpensive.Design a new data acquisition card, the card can sustain 16 parallel channels and every 4 of them can be collected at the same time.After comparing many methods to transform V to I, selected copper as the approach, some of the hardwares are from the used equipments in laboratory now.The software are designed in Delphi platform. In data acquisition part assemble language is inserted to improve the efficiency. In data analysis part Matlab language is inserted to have a credible conclusion.Founded on the advantages of VI, correlation analysis in time field and Power chart in frequency field have been realized after traditional functions have been realized.The results of primary debugging are satisfactory. The original object has come true.
