The new code for design of Highway Bridge and Culverts changed a lot in the terms of the vehicle loads. Combining with the theory of the large cantilever deck, and analyses of the terms about the vehicle loads, this paper shows the calculation results of three normal theories about the large cantilever deck calculation(the code method, Sawko method, Baider Bahkt method). Furthermore, the paper analyzes and summarizes the results. The analyses show: If the cantilever length doesn't exceed 2.5m, the terms of the effective distribution width in the code is available whether it is uniform cross section plate or variable cross section plate;If the cantilever length exceed 2. 5m, Sawko method is available for uniform cross section plate and Baider Bahkt method is available for variable cross section plate. Furthermore, with the new code, the calculation results of mx0, which is of the unit width moment at root segment of the large cantilever deck, are bigger than the old code, and the results of three methods decreases sharply. To make the calculations and the analyses convenient, the paper adopts Visual C++6.0, which is a kind of object-oriented programming language, to program, and it upgrades the efficiency remarkably.
