The historic timber structural buildings are composed of beams, columns, dougongs and roof, which are linked by mortise and tenon joints. The mortise and tenon is a great ancient architectural invention which contributes to better aseismic behavior. The structure mechanism of mortise and tenon is deduced and the structure is proved to be scientific from the point of wooden material characteristic.Destructive forms and stress condition is concluded, the mechanical model for the joints and the elastic hysteresis model are obtained according to the analysis of FEM. consistant geometric stiffness matrix and elastic stiffness matrix for semi-rigid connection beam unit are obtained. Then the unitary stiffness matrix of wooden frame model is worked out. in accordance with the behavior of mortise and tenon joints. The horizontal stiffness matrix of model and damped mode are acquired. The dynamic beheavior and aseismic mechanism of wooden frame are indicated in the time-history dynamic analysis of wooden structure, compared with the results of the shaking table experiment. The theoretic analysis on mortise-tenon joints aseismic beheavior is correspond to practice. The dynamic beheavior and aseismic mechanism of wooden frame are indicated in the time-history analysis of wooden structure. The theoretic analysis on mortise-tenon joints aseismic beheavior is nearly consistent with practice.
