The humid air turbine (HAT) cycle, characterized as a new power generation cycle with high efficiency, high specific power, low costs, low emissions and good off-design performance, has drawn more and more attention in the field of energy and power engineering. As an important component of HAT cycle, the humidifier plays a key role for the applications of HAT cycle and was studied theoretically and experimentally. The relative experiments and calculation were done in this thesis to understand the heat and mass transfer and transfer unit etc.The performance of water injected is associated with characteristic of nozzles applied. Six different nozzles were used in this experiment. It gained water spray for each nozzle with the help of Malvern optical instrument. It showed that the combined nozzles had advantage in flux performance.During the experiments for humidifier, the temperature, the flux and the pressure of water and air were measured carefully. The humidity of air came out of the humidifier were measured by honeywell humidity sensors. It showed that the humidifier would work better when increasing water-air ratio and the temperature of water injected. The nozzle with spout diameter of five millimeter had the best performance. With a great deal of data got by the experiments, the heat and mass transfer and transfer unit etc. could be calculated by graphics method.
