So far, infrared temperature measurement technology has been applied in the locomotive relaxation detecting and alarming equipments. However, infrared temperature measurement technology itself is influenced by many factors such as object emissivity, atmosphere environment etc.. In fact, working environment for the locomotive is quite foul, and the detection result is not satisfied. The thesis put forward the application of monitoring temperature on brake shoe, which is used to estimate brake fault of locomotive. Then deep research and discuss on its theory and application are taken.Diverse causes of tyre relaxation and various detection methods in the country are first introduced in the thesis. Then after deeply investigating the braking state detection method and fully considering the practical characters of locomotive, a solution is presented, which estimates the locomotive braking fault directly by detecting the temperature of the brake shoe. The temperature detection object and method are also established, corresponding temperature sensor is designed and the proper installation position and installation method are found. Besides, the thesis as well analyzes the principle of temperature detecting, data record, data communication, display, phonetic alarm and USB storage of twelve tyre pairs of brake shoe and software, hardware design about the system are presented. Next, in order to solve the processing way of the temperature data of brake shoe and reduce the mistake and fail alarm, according to the characters of the fuzzy inference technology and combining the features of the locomotive braking fault diagnosis system, the thesis presents a processing way which adopts fuzzy model system, and discuss the theory model and realizing method.In the end, the thesis summarizes the fruits of the experiment ofthe system and points out the deficiency of the research. Prospects of the system are presented as well.
