With respect to the large-scale reciprocating compressor's multiple-simulations and multiple-faults, and based on the traditional fault diagnosis means and classical signal process, adopted the latest new methods of wavelet analysis and wavelet packet on signal process, combined with the reciprocating compressor's alert system base on LabVIEW, an new and resultful fault diagnosis method of the reciprocating compressor is established in this paper. It breaks a new path for the fault diagnosis of reciprocating compressor.The contents of this dissertation mainly include the following aspects. Primarily, this paper analyses and introduces configuration and dynamic character of reciprocating compressor. With this understanding, combining with actual items, it summarizes how to obtain the vibration signal of the reciprocating compressor and some affairs that should be attentive. Posteriorly, this paper introduces the wavelet analysis and wavelet packet on signal process , discusses theirs theoretics and property, analyses theirs applied actuality in the area of reciprocating compressor fault diagnosis and testifies practicability and validity. Finally, this paper recommends the reciprocating compressor's alert system base on LabVIEW, which can work well for the reciprocating compressor fault diagnosis.The vibration signals of reciprocating compressor are basically non-balanced from its configuration and work principle, such as the vibration signals of air-valve, crosshead and piston. This paper gives pretreatment of signals by use of wavelet theoretics, especially combining with the theory of wavelet de-noise, which improves the Signal-to-Noise (SNR), and brings forward a kind of fault signal distilling and separating method based on wavelet packet on signal process and characters distilling, which supplies advantages for signal process and fault diagnosis on second thoughts. Posteriorly, this paper bands the equipment's primary configuration and runnable mechanism together, which well displays that signal fault analyses and characters distilling must unite the appointed equipments.The fault diagnosis of reciprocating compressor is a long and constantly reinforced work. In this paper, some new researches were preceded and some useful conclusions were obtained, but there still remains a lot of work to do in some field.
