Earthquake is a kind of natural disaster which is difficult to predict and the damage is very great. Occurrence of the strong motion often leads to the tremendous loss of life and property. The earthquake disaster of bridge is especially huge. Therefore, it is of great theoretical and practical significance to conduct comprehensive and systematic investigation on the earthquake-resistance of bridge. Firstly, the achievements of theoretical investigation of aseismic analysis are introduced. The development history of aseismic analysis of bridge is introduced and the advantages and disadvantages of these methods are analyzed. Then the present situation and development prospect of aseismic analysis theory of long-span cable-stayed bridge are discussed in details . Secondly, the dynamic characteristics and the response under the different seismic wave input of the Chongqing Fengjie Yangtze River highway bridge with long-span are analyzed and discussed in details by ANSYS. In the first step, the finite element model has been established and the dynamic characteristics analysis of long-span cable-stayed bridge has been carried out. The structural components capability is simulated by using different elements, especially for the cables, surface deck and link supports. The dynamic characteristics are analyzed by adopting three different cable-stayed bridge space models and the characteristics of the bridge are summarized. In the second step, the dynamic time-history analysis of long-span cable-stayed bridge has been finished. The response characteristics under the different seismic wave input are analyzed in details. The response results under one-dimension and three-dimension seismic wave input are compared, and the conclusion that both low-dimension and three-dimension aseismic analysis are important for cable-stayed bridge with long-span is drawn. From the different response results of linear time-history analysis and geometric nonlinear time-history analysis, the response results of the aseismic analysis are strongly influenced by the geometry nonlinearity of the bridge. Therefore, the geometry nonlinearity must be taken into account in aseismic analysis of cable-stayed bridge with long-span. Finally, some research results in this thesis are concluded, and the problems of further research are indicated.
