China plays a leading role in the research of rare-earth permanent magnet material, for there is rich resource of rare-earth in China. Rare-earth permanent magnet synchronous generator has many advantages, such as small size, little weight, high efficiency and reliability, so that it has a bright future in the aviation, national defense and other areas needing the independent power generator. Nevertheless, its excitation can not be regulated and the output voltage will alter with the variation of load, especially the voltage will vary a lot with inductance load. Therefore, it is very difficult for this kind of generator to hold a constant output voltage. The reference [1] has proposed a design of new-type permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), which introduces a new voltage-regulating method. With tracking armature current, compensation windings are fed with the current whose amplitude and phase can be adjusted to counteract the armature reaction, by the control of converter. Firstly, the dissertation analyzes the running principle of the new-type PMSG, the mathematical model of PMSG is constructed and the control scheme is presented. The result of simulation shows the correctness. Digital PI regulators which are simple applied control methods, and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique are introduced in Chapter 3. With PWM technique, the current regulator can control the current of compensation windings through the three phase inverter. The processing and sampling of electric parameter are critical to the precision of control system. Meanwhile, the LED display will show us some useful figure. These are explained in detail in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 introduces the hardware and software of the controller. Especially, the hardware is the fully digital circuit based on TMS320LF2407A and IPM. Finally, the experiment equipments are introduced, and the experiment result are presented. The result proves that the mathematical model and the control scheme are correct.
