Pile-raft foundation get more and more applications in high architecture because of it's resistance settlement and supply reliable bearing capacity and excellent adaptability for diversified geological condition.While in some engineering, different length piles are unavoidable used for stratum condition,which form long-short pile foundation.Systemic and thorough mechanism research has hardly any by far. Comparative perfect designing theory and computing method haven't been revealed.Based on the general pile settlement calculation,the author analyzes the long-short pile foundation in vertical load. Concretely,the author completed the following researches:Firstly,based on the analyse with FEM,the author conclude the skin friction in long-short pile foundation is different from the common pile foundation.Secondly, based on Geddes formula,the author use bilinear load mode near to the skin friction in long-short pile foundation.The programme on long-short pile foundation has been writed and validated.The author concluded the parameter Y has more effect on long pile than short pile in long-short pile foundation.thirdly,the author proposed the formula of Y and modify the formula with FEM.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
