Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) is a kind of technique that can monitor andidentify signal mode of brain's thoughts and produce orders that can control andhandle the human body's peripheral equipment, in order to achieve operationalpurpose anticipated or realize communication with external information. It canprovide paralysis patients who had lost basic movement function but have normalthoughts with a kind of new way that can carry on the information and control theexternal equipment without periphery nerve and muscle systems. Meanwhile, it canalso supply the personnel who work under the special environment with the specialcapability of controlling a certain device. Moreover, BCI can offer the healthy personsa kind of brand-new entertainment of "letting the thought turn into the action".This thesis fully compared and analyzed all kinds of BCI systematicserviceability, utilized α wave's characteristic that has obvious rhythm and ubiquitousblock the phenomenon among most persons who have normal brain nerve and theprinciple of the TV remote controller to design a novel TV remote control systembased on BCI. This system only needs two electrodes and is easy and simple to operate.Users can control the remote button stably and reliably only after a short-term training. On theother hand, this system is convenient to extend its function.This system consisted of BCI control panel, signal gather system, signalprocessing platform and interface control circuit. Firstly control panel made userproduce EEG that contained relevant control information. Secondly the EEG signalwas amplified and filtered and inputted computer. Finally computer finished a seriesof work of signal processing on Labview platform and outputted a signal to controlthese buttons. In order to confirm 3 key parameters, this research performed a seriesof experiments.It was obviously seen from results that 6 users can successfully and steadilyfinish a series of operations. It proved that this system is feasible and mistake can beeliminated.
