After crude oil washing, if a crude oil tanker or storage platform is to be repaired or carry out some operations in tanks or change oil brand, it should carry through sea water washing to thoroughly remove the bottom oil in tanks. This thesis will do some jobs about how to optimize the thermal oil tank washing system serving tank washing and cargo oil tank heating as follows:1. As heat transfer medium, thermal oil is superior to the traditional steam, so it's widely used in many central heating systems. The thermal oil heating system in this thesis serves cargo oil tanks, slop tanks, skim tanks, the oily water tank in engine room, sea water desalination device, centrifugal oil separator of diesel oil and sea water washing heater. To make it serve more efficiently, this thesis firstly checks the capacity of this system through calculating the heat dissipating capacity of cargo oil tanks and the heat need of sea water washing heater.2. The type and capacity choice of sea water washing heater is very important to guarantee the tank washing sea water reaching enough temperature. The thesis chooses the compact and effective plate type heat exchanger and selects proper plate dimension, plate type and optimum plate quantity by design calculation, and finally, educes the relational expression between thermal oil flow and sea water temperature which offers theoretical references for the sea water temperature control and regulation.3. When carrying on sea water washing, the thermal oil system serves thermal oil to cargo oil tanks, other tanks and the tank washing heater. The author calculates the resistance of each thermal oil pipe and then provides means to solve pipe flow control questions according to the relations between resistance and flow.4. The thesis gives the strength design for compressed parts of the plate type heat exchanger chosen according to pressure vessel standards overseas and selects suitable material for the heated part through consulting certain data, then briefly summarizes the technique and application about the plate type heat exchanger, in the end, summarizes this thesis and brings forward some questions need further solutions.
