With the development of SCM (single — chip microprocessor) and control technique,the system of the boiler's water level is developing from the traditional PID controller to intelligent controller. In the end of the last century, many kinds of water level controller have been developed at home and abroad . Many of these adopt traditional PID as control law. The traditional PID controller has many good characters,such as simple structure,high reliability and stability,but it can not satisfy the control requirement at every work condition.Fuzzy control is an intelligent control solution without accurate model,which is often used in the control process of the nonlinear objects . However, the lack of high precision and parameter systemic design methods limits the applications of fuzzy control.in this thesis,in order to improve the performances of fuzzy controller and study the design and self-tuning of the parameters further,a hybrid structure of fuzzy PID controller is proposed to realize the optimization of parameters, the simulations of some industrial plants such as the boilers validate the effectiveness of above mentioned method and structure.applying a fuzzy method of self-tuning rule factors to accord the strategies of the boiler's water level and based on the software of MATLAB/SIMULINK, this thesis has developed a system to design and simulate the level control system of boilers under the control methods of PID and Fuzzy, then traditional control theory such as PID control and fuzzy control were applied. By analyzing the stability of T-S model fuzzy system and the problems that the traditional PID control and fuzzy control algorithm faced, the thought of combining fuzzy logic control with PID control was presented to realize parameters self-tuning fuzzy control, so an intelligent fuzzy self-tuning PID controller was developed.this paper has developed ActiveX interface in order to show the boiler's curves under the fuzzy intelligent control method timely and conveniently through the IE.
