Flywheel battery is a novel energy storage device which has many advantages: high specific energy and specific power, volume small, fast charge, long cycle life, non-pollution and so on. Along with the headway of the key technique of composite material, integrate motor/generator, electric/ electronic, magnetic suspension, making the development and application of battery flywheel is feasible and has a great development prospect. This dissertation studies the design method and theory of magnetic bearing's structure based on the object of the flywheel battery for vehicle.Firstly, the layout of magnetic bearing and object of study is presented by analyzing the application field of flywheel battery for vehicle. This dissertation deduces and illustrates the mechanics and material characteristics of radial permanent bearing, brings out the optimized structure form. Using the combining simulated technique of ADAMS and ANSYS, the magnetic suspension rotor's dynamic characteristics which withstand determinate outer impulse are analyzed. Accordingly, the requirement of stiffness which is a requisite for the design of permanent bearing is acquired.After that, this dissertation expatiates on the principles of structure design and the method of choosing parameters of axial bearing and discusses the analysis of strength and thermal verification.In addition, utilizing the structure of flywheel to optimize the layout of magnetic bearing, a new layout is brought up.
