Study On Smart Home Based On Embedded Technology

With the development of modern science and technology, as well as people's living standard, people have been pursuing safer, more comfortable, and more intelligent home as their goals. Consequently, people are changing their notion of house decorating and making Smart Home a tendency. However, there still lies some problems in Smart Home, though for which, high performance chips and operating systems applied in embedded system, as well as the development of network technology offer technical support.The dissertation makes an overview of the present research achivements of Smart Home and its application, anlyzing the unsolved problems in domestic and foreign contexts - absence of an identical family network standard, difficulty in constructing an integrated system with different products, low intellectualized degree and high costs.It also presents a structure of Smart Home system against current technical background of embedded system, taking into account the ideal pattern of smart home. This structure offers a new perspective on the existing problems, which satisfies the current demands and at the same time directs attention to the future development of Smart Home.A low-cost smart-home controller is designed to provide a practical scheme for users' reference. This project gets ride of cost of GSM Module thus reduces the hardware cost and the research and development hardship.To adapt to the future development of Smart Home, this paper also researches residential gateway based on WiMAX, which can create a connection between family and public network. It can also gurantee the QoS so as to satisfy the transmission of family data, voice and video and so on. A test via flood ping and iperf is launched to this project, in which a lowest byte rate of 16.1MBps in the described case can be realized and thus fulfill demands of all types of family data transmission.
