Currently, the common form of cofferdam are earth cofferdam and steel cofferdam. Traditional earth cofferdam constructed simply expediently and seasonedly. Traditional steel cofferdam usually constructed by machines, so it saves time. Because of the use of steel, this style cofferdam can be used repeatedly. But when the traffic is inconvenient, the cofferdam only constructed by manpower and needs overfall, traditional styles of cofferdam are unuseful. The study mainly research a new style of steel cofferdam to resolve too low water level of Hongruhe River dredging, the dredger can't work, the local traffic is inconvenient and cofferdam construction works must be human-oriented problems. The new style cofferdam has the following characteristics:1. The entire structure of the cofferdam uses the sub-assembly parts creatively, each accessory can be carried to riverway, and then assembled by manpower.2. Soleplate use separate form, each curtain panel has two soleplates. Through triangular support soleplate and curtain panel was connected slidingly. By this way two soleplates can not sustain at the same height, and therefore the cofferdam can adapt the river bed very well.3. In order to prevent the overflowing scour pile foundation which can lead to the damage of the cofferdam water level rise, we design overflowing box. When the water level raises, the water can overflow into the box.4. Because it is cofferdam, so when the water level rise we need to dismantle it. In order to dismantle it facilely during flood season, each steel panels and pile are setted suspension holes. Using these holes, we can dismantle the cofferdam quickly. In winter, the water level of rivers in north China is generally low, so this research has broad application and promotion prospects in dredging work of the northern rivers.
