The full bridge converter is an important part of power electronics. It is used in many applications. In some key field, the soft-switching characteristic of converter should be ideal required. In this paper, a detailed analysis of the soft full-bridge PWM converter is performed. The operation elements and the soft-switching conditions are examined. Based on the analysis, two possible improved designs are given:1. Introduces an improved full bridge phase-shift ZVS-PWM DC/DC converter which can achieve ZVS in the range of any load condition. Based on the analysis, the conditions of ZVS in the range of any load condition are given. Based on the improved design, a 48V~6V/240W converter are established.2. Introduces a full bridge phase-shift zero-voltage and zero-current-switching (ZVZCS) with assist network. Circuit parameters that affect the soft-switching conditions are examined and the critical parameters are identified.
