Along with continuing population growth and speedy economy development, the conflict between water-land resources supply and demand is increasingly serious and many environmental problems are more and more severe. In this situation, to integrate water and land resources to more appropriate utilization and suitable allocation has scientific and practical value.Regional water-land resources programming has been developed from experienced programming method to system optimization methods. It is a complicated system, which has lots of data and calculation. But many methods have some shortcomings in practical use.Ant colony algorithm is a new heuristic optimization method and it has many merits. It is applied to regional water-land resources programming, which is a new application and attempt. It is based on system optimization method and works out reasonable project to realize maximum regional economical, social and environmental benefits with limited water-land resources.Through the application of ant colony algorithm in regional agricultural water-land resources programming, this paper finds out the application of this algorithm is reasonable, it has good value in application and research, and the programming project is reasonable too. The ant colony algorithm provides an effective optimization method for the regional water-land resources programming.
