Wujiang Suofengying Dr2 steep dangerous rock mass is an unstable column which is almost 200 meters high with soft rock base. There is a given mass of compress deformation in the soft rock foundation which is detrimental to the stability of the steep rock due to the bluff gravity which is proximately 200 meters high. What's more, the geological conditions are very complex, so several unstability patterns such as shear in the soft rock, dumpage and slide on the structural plane are very possible to occur. Whether the bluff can be solved successfully influences the normal work of the dam and the water diversion system. Besides the experience to treat the rock bluff is deficient in our country which is nearly 200 meters high. Therefore it is necessary to use more effective method to analyses the stability of the rock bluff based on the soft rock.In this paper, stabilities and reinforcements for the steep dangerous rock mass with soft rock base has been studied. Its main contents of the paper are as follows:1. Current states of study on stability and reinforcement for rock slope has been analyzed after a great mount of related books is learned.2. Analyses have been done on the slope stability problem which has theoretical solve by using strength reduction non-linearity FEM and finite element iteration method individually. The results of them are approximative, however, the last one is to the theoretical value. Furthermore some work has been done to search the influence of the original value of K on the result by finite element iteration method.3. In this paper, the method has been put forward in which both of strength reduction non-linearity FEM and breakage form of the dangerous rock are used. And its calculation routine is : strength reduction non-linearity FEM is used to ascertain the breakage form of the dangerous rock at first, and then breakage form of the dangerous rock is used to calculate the stability safety factor. And so analyses can be done to judge the stability of the steep rock before it is reinforced.4. Equivalent concentrated load method is adopted to simulate the reinforce effect of prestressed anchor cable, the reinforcement function of concrete injection into fissure is simulated with material replacement method, the reinforcement effect of prestress anchor cable and concrete injection is provided according to the computing result of 3D FEM. The compositive application of several reinforcement methods increases the stability safety factor, which shows that the reinforcement scheme is reasonable and feasible. Some advice has been given on the reinforcement method because there are still some problems.
