During of building of civil engineerings, many projects building on the soft soil ground .the analysis of soft soil deformation plays very important role in the designation of geotechnical engineerings. Mucky soil has the character of low strength, high compressibility and low permeability. So it is unsafe to building engineering on such foundation. It is necessary to be explored, testing and calculate carefully. The measures must be taking during the course of building to avoid the accident. The soil body damaged result in non-uniform settlement or high settlement which caused by rheology character of soft soil should be pay more attention , People attach importance to the study of rheology in the geotechnical engineering, rheology of soft soil is a very important subject especially.The main content in this paper are the study of secondary consolidation and it's influencing factors. The main work of the thesis is as follows:1. Laboratory 1D compression tests are made on soft soil which get from Shan-Jie highway. They are carried in grading loading and decrementation. Every grading loading lasted for 7days.systematic test dates are achieved.2.Secondary consolidation deformation is usually expressed by coefficient of secondary consolidation. This paper mainly study the influencing factors of secondary consolidation coefficient and get the relationship between secondary consolidation coefficient and OCR, pressure and plasticity index .and it's experiment equations were achieved.3. 1D secondary consolidation model was built on the basis of Mitchell's stress-strain--time compression expression in this paper.4.Computed the settlement of highway by using the new model and the fessibility of this model was inspected by the field monitoring date of Shantou-Jieyang highway.
