| With the development of our national economy, in industrial fields, the application of rotating machinery is increasing rapidly, especially the steam turbines for electric power industry. Not only the number but also the capacity is growing up steadily and quickly. Therefore, to guarantee the machine' s operating safely and economically is to be an important problem, which should be face d to and handled by corporations and power-producing enterprises. On the other hand, the rapid progress in computer technology, signal processing theory and methods, and the sharp decline of prices of DSP chips, have led the application of DSP in instruments to a more and more profound extent.In order to acquire and process the signal of the steam turbine' operating quickly, in all round ,correctly , and to capture fault information in time, to forecast the exist and progress of failure, to decrease the time spent on searching and diagnosing vibration faults and the times of the wrong starting/stopping machine operation by it, to avoid tragedy' s happening, the paper presents a programmable monitoring system for steam turbines based on digital signal processor TMS320LF2407 of TI company. The device adopts the idea of modularization and standardization both in hardware and software. With the control of configuration software, it has a character of operating fast, high precision, simple structure, flexible control, strong display, great use, relatively small cost, and so on. the paper focuses on discussing the design of the hardware and software of the monitoring system based on DSP, and included several important parts as following: (1) Overall design and function of circuits;(2) hardware design, including power circuit, signal process, logic and safety circuit, LCD display circuit, SCI communication circuit;(3) software design,including SCI communication interrupt service subprogram, capture interrupt service subprogram, Timer interrupt subprogram, A/D acquisition subprogram, consulting service program, and signal process subprogram.The hardware and software design of the monitor system in the paper is done, included the PCB board, debugging the program.
