Permafrost is underground soils containing ice which keep frozen for several years, it is remains of ancient glacial climate. Patchy permafrost is the edge of vast and continuous permafrost zone which is degrading, it is discontinuous horizontally. Since the climate is changing warmer all over the globe and the thermal balance of the ground is broken after building roads, which made the permafrost melt and ground sink, sub-grade of road is destroyed. One more thing is all kinds of trouble of sub-grade and pavement caused by freezing cold climate in permafrost regions. The frost heave and thawing settlement of frozen soil area can do great harm to the road and building which lies on it, such as the crack, settlement, fragile structures foundation element etc. The experimental and theory research on the frost heave and thawing settlement have experienced about half centuries, which can divide into the foundation research and applying research; the former research majors in the frost heave and thawing settlement's form of expression and the mechanism of freezing heave; the applying research emphasis on the numerical prediction models and preventions from freeze-thaw harm of the frost heave and thawing settlement.Owing to being lack of uniform freezing temperature and frost heaving tester at present in China, in the paper, we adapted the freezing temperature device which the specifications of experiment introduces. In this experiment, it main aims at the representative soil group—low liquid limit clay, fine sand and fine grave in the region of Xinjiang. By the device, the freezing temperature experimentation was proceeded , and the frost heaving coefficient and thaw-settlement coefficient were calculated .Educing freezing temperature's rule which adapts soil group, water content, dry-density, salinity content and water quality to change its value. The study shows that salinity content factor influencing freezing temperature remarkably, and the dry-density seldom influencing the freezing temperature.Through the analysis of grey system theory which apply to the frost heave coefficient and thawing settlement coefficient of frozen soil, it can be concluded that among the different kinds of decisive factors which affect the frozen heave coefficient, the maximum affect factor is the water content. then the followed factors are the content of organic, the content of salt, soil property and dry-density. To the decisive factors which affect the thawing settlement coefficient, the largest contribution factor is the content of salt, the content of water just holds the second place, and then follows the content of organic, soil property and dry-density.Through the analysis of the factors which have an effect on the frozen engineer and combine the Tian Shan Band's climate, geology, hydrologic survey, geography etc, a lot of research and analysis work which according to the frozen soil's cause of formation, development and distribution have been carried out, thus...
