With the development of Chinese economy and the West Development, the increasing need of communication infrastructure, especially the integrity of road web, causes that a lot of tunnel construction in permafrost regions is inevitable. How to take useful operations to decrease the freezing disaster in cold region tunnels is an urgent problem.Frost-heaving force is thought to be the main reason of freezing disaster, In the study of tunnel in cold regions the key point is how to prevent and decrease the damages caused by frost-heaving force.By the inducing of frost-heaving force in cold regions tunnel wall rock, and applying in the design of tunnel timbering lining, making precise analysis of the frost-heaving damage mechanism in it. According to the elasticity method, the frost-heaving force in different cases, like the thickness of frost-ring and the freezing-heaving rate, is calculated and analyzed, the curve of frost-heaving force-deformation and the law of frost-heaving force are made. Base on freezing-heaving elastic and plastic mechanical method, the FEM calculation of frost-heaving force under different surrounding temperature is achieved, and the distribution law of frost-heaving force in tunnels and the location of maximal frost-heaving force are found; The heat convection between air and rock wall in frost region and the math model of heat exchange coupling in rock wall are got, and the FEM analyses is done; According to analyses of many projects, preventing thaw-slumping damage of effective method is put forward.
