SMART Layer is a insulated film with an embeded network of distributed actuators/sensors.It can either be surface-mounted on existing structures or integrated into composite structures to implement the health monitoring of structures.In this paper, we having mainly researched into how to apply the SMART Layer technology to Structural Health Monitoring(SHM) System.In order to achieve Structural Health Monitoring demo systems for the Model of Wing-box ,those are studied greatly to smart Layer application design,signal processing,hardware,load recognising algorithm and monitoring software.Firstly, itis explained that the application research of SMART Layer.To laod detecting and simulative damage for the Model of Wing-box,FBG Fiber SMART Layer and PZT SMART Layer are designed, and manufactured.So,those are surface-mounted respectively on the stiffened skin of aluminum alloy and carbon fiber reinforced.Data acquisition system based on different signal processing technique are designed.Secondly, Gnetic Agorithm(GA) is applied to design the load recognising processing of structure.It can solve how to search the Optimal Solution in the load detecting recognising.According to the structure of basic GA, the Chromosome Coding and Decode,Fitness,and Genetic Operator are designed.It is validated through the experiment of load recognising in the Model of Wing-box.Finally, the demo software system aiming for structure health monitoring.is designed and realized.This integrated system has many useful functions, such as data transfers, signal processing and model display and so on.The communication in LAN are achieved by using multi-threading technique. The Matlab Engine is adopted to carry out the algorithm of load recognizing.The display and control of structural 3D model are achieved based on OpenGL.
