RC shear wall is extensively used in tall building for its good anti-seismic performance. Since the mechanics concept of the high shear wall is clear, the research about it is extensive and the calculation theory is also perfect. The performance of RC low-rise shear wall is mainly controlled by shear force for the sake of its small aspect ratio, but the research about it is few both at home and abroad. It is the key point to realize the force mechanism of the RC low-rise wall in discussing its ultimate strength. Among a great many factors that affect the performance of the RC low-rise shear wall there are aspect ratio, reinforcement steel ratio, concrete strength, lading, hole etc.But unfortunitely the performance of the low-rise shear wall is not completely known at present. So it is necessary to carry on further research on the performance of the low-rise shear wall under horizontal force. The research in this thesis is valuable both in theory develoment and in engineering application.Based on the research of the former scholars and combined the correlative literature, this thesis is mainly carried on about three parts hereinafter. At first, a model for the nonlinear analysis of low-rise RC shear walls is proposed in this thesis. In this model, the rotating-angle softened-truss theory and the constitutive relation under cyclic loading in consideration of the effect of cracked section for modeling of concrete are used. In the stress-strain relationship of steel, the Baushinger effect is considered. The computer program with Matlab language is compiled according to the proposed model. And the model is proved by calculating the low-rise walls which are subjecting to monotonic loading and cyclic loading respectively. The calculated and the measured results are shown to be in good agreement.Secondly, the three-dimensional nonlinear finite element theory about the RC shear wall is elaborated, and ANSYS is adopted to establish the elastic- plastic finite element analysis model for the RC low-rise shear wall. In this model, the element of SOLID65 with reinforcement is used for simulating reinforced concrete. The discrete crack is adopted in simulating concrete crack. The bilinear elastic- plastic model is considered in the stress-strain relationship of steel. The contrast of the calculational result and the test data indicates that the textual model is reasonable.Meantime, the comparetion between the above two models is studied.
