Since 1980s, the technology of minimum offshore platform has been presented recommendations and being used during exploiting the oil fields in the foreign countries. The minimum offshore platform can replace the 4 legs jacket platform under proper conditions. Now our country has quite a lot of oil fields are marginal, in order to get profit no other ways but reduce the construction investment and control the cost of production, the minimum offshore platform make exploiting the marginal oil fields become practice. Minimum offshore platform is applicable to the marginal and neritic oil fields. It must have the well applicable foreground, owning to its characteristics of simple structures, short periodic time of fabrication and installation, low engineering cost and so on.In order to comprehensively study the structure of minimum offshore platform, the contents of this dissertation including is as follows:i ) calculate design wave height of minimum offshore platform. The return period for the design wave is calculated by the means of safety assurance rate on probability, the significant wave height of corresponding return period is got by fitting existent wave data in area of platform site through Weibull distribution, and significant wave height is converted into the maximum wave height finally, namely design wave height.ii) research the structure of minimum offshore platform. The calculating finite element model is built on the basis of simplifying the structure of traditional jacket platform reasonably.iii) calculate wave loads. Through introducing the knowledge of theory, static analysis and dynamic response analysis for the minimum offshore platform are carried out by ABAQUS which is an advanced general purpose finite element program system.iv) assessment of minimum offshore platform.
