The Disquisition On The Research Of Clay-earth Residence Designing And Building In Northwest

The Northwest region with a vast territory, which occupy 30 percent of the geographical area of our country ,including five province and municipality ,is the cradle of Chinese civilization ,and 13 dynasty found the capital in Shanxi province. the culture of Hesperian and Chinese can be communicated each other through "the Silk Road". The Northwest region is also a multiracial region with Tibet, Uigur, the Hui ,the Han nationality and also .each nationality have its own culture tradition, custom and religion ,and they would be developed in concord.This region distributing the most immeasurable desert , Gobi, and loess. and that as the part of biogeocenose which including culture, nature ,and building ,the residence building such as the Clay-earth building certainly reflect the environmental consciousness and culture character. in Northwest region ,there are multifarious Clay-earth buildings .in order to utilize the loess ,people on the loess altiplano dig cave-dwell to reside in; in order to defend the sand blown by wind and cold or in order to survive and develop, people construct the house with massive clay-earth, adobe or clay-arch.There would be many advantages using clay-earth to be the fabricated material, such as simple craftwork, convenient construction, fine physical character and protect environment. Using clay-earth also would be the valid way to resolve the problem of exiguous resource and atrocious environment the technology of clay-earth was inherited and developed by people in Northwest with the long-range building of clay-earth architecture. Today, a lot of architects are in favor of the natural material, consider it as the rational material to construction.This thesis would learn the character of plane form, space , aspect, structure and construction with researching the method of design and technology of construct on clay-earth residence building in Northwest region. such as cave-dwell, clay-arch and clay-wooden mixed building.Through the process of research, author want to provide some applied help to inherit and develop the clay-earth residence building.
