The control of small or middle volume wastewater pollution is becoming more and more important for improving the environmental quality of water resource and solving the water shortage problem with rapid development of urbanization in China. Biological Aerated Filter is an attractive wastewater treatment technique with the advantages of economic, high treatment efficiency and easy operation, and become one kind of technique to treat wastewater of town or city. However, there are still some problems need to further study in BAF respect to its defections. In order to improve the research and development in wide applying wastewater treatment, we turn Biological Aerated Filter into Integrated Biological Filter by setting anaerobic process, and have research on the productive experiment of Integrated Biological Filter for wastewater treatment, focuse on start-up effect, laws of operational factors, disposal and utilization of backwashing sludge.On the base of experiments in Chengnan Wastewater Treatment Plant in Chongqing city, the designing treatment scale is 1000m3/d, while designing scale of 12#, 14# Integrated Biological Filter is 500m3/d. 12# and 14# Integrated Biological Filter have applied two kind of culture model: increase the loading regularly afer continuous culture firstly, and inflow the wastewater as the designing quantity directly. Conclusion can be made as the following: the star-up velocity is faster and easy to measure in the model of inflow the wastewater directly, while it is contrary to the first model.Have a research on Integrated Biological Filter's removal performance on the condition of different filler layer height of 1.05m,1.35m,1.65m,1.95m, while the inflow water quantity is 500m3/d, HRT is 9h. It can satisfy the stander by selecting filler layer height of 1.35m aiming at remove COD and SS. Only by increasing the filler layer height to 1.95m can the stander be satisfied when its aim is removing COD, SS and NH4+-N. As for this, filler layer height of 1.95m is more favorable to improve the removal performance.On condition of inflow of 500m3/d, filler layer height 1.95m, HRT 9h, temperature from 26.5℃ to 30.2℃, research on the removal performance of Integrated Biological Filter in different aeration of 6:1,9:1,12:1 and 15: 1.
