In the modern life, cars become more and more important to people. The level of automobile manufacturing in a country embodies the level of science and technology to most extent. In many developed countries automobiles' popularization has reached higher degree.car body is one of three big assemblies. It not only has beautiful effect of whole vision, enough room and fluent figure curve, but also the most important thing is superior performance.Body is the key assembly of a car. Its structure determines the mechanics characteristics of the whole car. The static&dynamic analysis of car body can not only exa- mine the integrative stiffness performance, but also provide a guidance for people on structure optimization and response analysis.Based on the theory of finite element method (FEM) and static&dynamic state, this paper mainly performs static and modal analysis of car body by using HyperWorks (HyperMesh) software. The validity of FEM's result is proved by structure characteristics' rationality compared with similar car's characteristics.Every component is built up through three dimensions CAD software CATIA. Then the model is input into HyperMesh software by appropriate format, car body is simplified on base of the reflection of static and dynamic characteristics. On the pre- mise of analysis of element quantities, quality and distribution, the whole car body is meshed by using shell element in order to establish the detailed model for FEM analysis. At the same time, spotwelds are simulated by beam elements. Before calculation, the influence of strengthen rib, thickness of sheet mental and connecting relation etc. on static&modal parameter is discussed. The result shores that inhere frequency of components with single thickness is direct ratio to components' thickness, increasing thickness improves components' stiffness, reasonable setting of strengthen rib will increase components' stiffness and special frequency greatly while the mass increases a little , the method dealing with connection will influence the result in some degree. In three kinds of static cases stiffness analysis of car body is performed. At the same time, modal analysis is performed in the free case. Furthermore, evaluation on the static...
