As the rapid development of the high-rise buildings, the Double-Tower-Connected Structures (DTCS) system has been applied to the tall buildings more and more frequently. This paper is mainly concerned in the study of the DTCS. Firstly the development and the advantages of DTCS were introduced. Secondly the QR-method was adopted to establish a new kind of calculation mode for the elastic static analysis of this type of structure. And the result was compared to the one gotten from traditional finite element software to study the influence of the building's connecting positions to the towers. Thirdly, to analyze the elasto-plastic problems of DTCS, the QR-method was adopted to establish the elasto-plastic analysis model of it based on the elasto-plastic strain theory and two-component model, and the initial stress increment iteration method and the increment iteration method were respectively adopted for the solving. The result was compared to the one of finite element method based on the flow rule. The analysis result showed that, with less unknown quantity, high precision, convenience of calculating and easiness for programming, the QR-method is an effective method for analyzing the DTCS. Avoided the disadvantages of the flow rule, the elasto-plastic strain theory is a scientific theory for solving the nonlinear problems of structures. All the computation programs in this paper were completed with C language and have been debugged...
