Dam is usually used to store fly-ash,and the most economic method is using fly-ash as dam material . But because of its loose hollow structure,the engineering properties of fly-ash are different from other cohesionless soils.So it's necessary to study the physics mechanical properties of fly-ash.The basic physical and mechanics properties of fly-ash,such as chemical composition,sedimental distribution law,liquid-plastics limits,compaction,compressibility,permeablity properities,lateral pressure coefficient at rest are discussed.The results show that fly-ash is of low specific gravity,low compressibility,high strength and high permeability etc . Its compacted dry density is nonsensitive to moisturecontent. Saturated, undrained fly-ash of natural sediments has little possibility of"static liquification".It is an ideal construction material of extensive exploited application future.The stress-strain property of the fly-ash has been discussed in this text , and it provide theoretical foundation for fly-ash dam building.Confirm the model parameters of the fly-ash through the indoor testing and compare the testing stress-strain curves with the theory curves.The stress-strain property has slso been discussed under different exceeding consolidation and different shearing speed.The test results...
