With the rapid development of modern electric power system, the problem of voltage stability stands out increasingly. The subject of voltage stability has become an attention-getting research subject and an urgent question in electric power system. It includes exploring the mechanisms of voltage collapse, constructing a model that reflects real electric power system as possibly as it can and strengthening the researches of power system voltage stability and security.This paper tries to use several optimization algorithms, aiming at voltage stability, to do some research into modeling, voltage stability margin calculation and analysis, preventive/corrective control and static security assessment.Firstly, the important meaning of voltage stability research, the development of voltage stability and optimization algorithm, and the definition, classification and analysis methods of voltage stability are presented. At the same time, the general framework of voltage security assessment is discussed.Secondly, an artificial intelligence algorithm integrated with the primal-dual path following interior point algorithm and immune algorithm is proposed for voltage stability margin calculation. This algorithm can not only shake off local extreme value to find the global optimum quickly, but also consider the various discrete variables of power system, to get the maximum voltage stability margin more accurately than the margin gained by the primal-dual path following interior point...
