It is crucially important how to effectively identify the flaws hidden in the concrete structure, in order to avoid catastrophic failure of concrete structures and ensure them working normally. Nowadays, there are several ways to detect the crack happened in concrete, such as supersonic crack detector, radar detector, optical fiber detector technique, and so on. However, all of these ways practically have limitation to some extent.Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is one kind of Non Destructive Testing method. EIT is practically implemented on a specimen containing flaws by mapping its outer surface with electrodes, applying voltage on a couple of electrodes and measuring the resulting electrical potential. It not only shows a conductance distribution map, which indicates the presence of location of the flaw in the specimen, but also illustrates the process of flaw developing. Now, EIT is widely used in biomedicine and material engineering. Therefore, compared with the traditional detect methods, EIT has many special features. Study on practical crack detection of concrete structure flaws, which is based on the principle of EIT is very significant. This paper deals with experimental study on hardened cement paste with crack, in which the resulting electrical potential and resistance were measured using HP4192A impedance measure instrument. Data processing is implemented by using...
