In addition to high strength,light quantity, good shape, fast tiredness and fast strike, the square concrete-filled steel tubular structures have a lot of advantages, such as simple node form, flexible construct layout, big section inertial rules,good stability,convenient construction and easy fireproofing measure and so on,at present they have been used in many high-buildings, but study on the square concrete-filled steel tubular columns still exists many problems,such as disagree experiment results and simple finite element model and so on. The article affiliates the felt element between steel pipe and concrete, it is near to the force behavior of the square concrete-filled steel tubular columns.Using ANSYS 8.0 software , the article carries finite element analysis on 16 square concrete-filled steel tubular columns, according to the calculation results,I consider the behavior influence of the square concrete-filled steel tubular columns from axial load ratio, thickness of steel tubular,intension of concrete,slenderness ratio and intension of steel, under the constant axis and level load ,I study the square concrete-filled steel tubular columns on the carrying capacity ,the distortion characteristics, the Mises stress distribution of the steel pipe,the Mises stress on points and paths, the concrete crack circumstances and concrete axial stress,and draw a conclusion: thickness of steel tubular and slenderness ratio are primary aspects on the design of the square concrete-filled steel tubular column. From economic view, the thickness of steel tubular may be increased, but it can't be increased greatly, or the stress poll will be serious,the design of the square concrete-filled steel tubular column must meet normative requests. The intension of concrete needn't be enhanced largely, the advance of intension of concrete can't affect carrying capacity too greatly, at one time it can enhance engineering price, it causes waste and can't bring convenience to construction.
