The vibration absorbers with hysteretic restoring forces are widely used in the engineering to reduce the vibration of structure. In order to find out the speciality of the hysteretic system under random excitation, random responses and model parameters of hysteretic system were studied by the method of stochastic equivalent linearization and Mento-Carlo simulation.Based on the memorial characters of restoring forces, the equivalent parameters of the bilinear and Bouc-Wen hysteretic system were gotten by using stochastic equivalent method. Then, both the stationary and non-stationary random response of hysteretic system with cubic rigidity and sticky damp were deduced and calculated. In the research of colored white noise, the filter for shaping the power spectral density was designed and the random state response of enlarged vector was gotten. With this, the experimental power spectral curve was changed into colored white noise and the random response could be easily calculated. The parameters of metal-rubber absorber and Bouc-Wen hysteretic system under non-stationary random excitation were studied, and parameter's effect to reduce the response of system was shown in the paper.The Mento-Carlo simulation was introduced to substitute the random vibration experiment. The random responses of hysteretic system gotten by the method of stochastic equivalent linearization were compared with Mento-Carlo simulations, and the feasibility of this method was exemplified by Mento-Carlo simulations.
