In this paper, we study the techniques of situation threat assessment (STA) and multi-sensor tracks association, which are two cores in the battlefield surveillance and reconnaissance system.A new processing structure is proposed to solve the problem of existence of several mid-level system tracks and the complexity of tracks'label management. We also discuss the Modified K-NN (MK-NN) algorithm of tracks association and the asynchronous track fusion. An improved MK-NN algorithm is presented as well as the analysis of its performance.For STA, we first establish a 3-class functional model by analyzing the needs STA should satisfy, then propose an algorithm of threat assessment based on Analytic Hierarchy Process given the special requirements of battlefield surveillance and reconnaissance system.Furthermore, we investigate the designment of battlefield surveillance and reconnaissance system, point out the keys that should be paid attention to during the process. A software is shown to implement our ideas.
