Now, energy sources consume increasing daily and environment empoison being serious gradually, forced people to consider new and renewable energy development and utilization, wind power is paid great attention by more and more countries because of its outstanding excellence in them. The wind power generation technology also become research hotspot of many country's scholar. And the direct-drive variable-speed constant-frequency(vscf) generation technology is paid attention to more and more for its high efficiency and practicability.The disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator, with compact structure, so good ventilation, large moment of inertia and high efficiency, has gained renewed attention in the direct-drive variable-speed wind turbine applications in recent years for its features and favorable reliability.In this paper, based on the traditional wind power generation technology, the direct-drive variable-speed wind generation technology is mainly researched. A comprehensive research on the disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator used in the direct-drive variable-speed constant-frequency wind power generation. The following items are included:1. Summarize the research status of the wind power generation, introduce the history and developing future of and the disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator.2. The prototype of disc-type machine and its development are investigated, study in detail the principle of the disc-type machine design feathers. The feasibility and superiority for the disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator used in the direct-dirve variable-speed constant-frequency generator applications is explained.3. Based on the electromagnetism design program of permanent-magnet generator and disc-type motor, the electromagnetism design program of the disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator is firstly derived. And used the Visaul Baisc 6.0 as tool, developed the electromagnetism design software of its to improve the design efficiency.4. The disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator's static electromagnetic field and transient electromagnetic field have been analyzed in detail by the Maxwell 3D. The result of analysis compared with the calculative result by VB program confirmed the validity of the disc-type permanent-magnet synchronous generator which was designed in chapter 3.
