The calculation of the settlement is a difficult problem that puzzles scientific researchers and engineers. The precision of its calculating results has directly an effect on the design, construction, use and maintenance of the project. In order to overcome the disadvantages of the traditional calculating method and other numerical methods, the researchers and the engineers like to analyze the original settlement data to predict the settlement. Compared with the traditional calculating and numerical methods, this method has the advantage of simpleness, convenience. However, the accuracy of predicted settlement by analyzing the original data, depends mainly on the methods used in analyzing data. For this reason, the thesis is focused on the following aspects:(1)Analyze the geology condition of the high fill.(2)Numerical analyse the high fill, research the stress distribution features and deformation of the side slope filled. Analyze the condition of deformation destroy of side slope, and fide the impossible slip surface positions.(3)Using the grey theory to solve the problems on the settlement prediction, set up unequal interval GM(1,1) model and grey Verhulst model to predict the settlement.(4)To overcome the error of the single curve fitting, put forward the method of the variable weight combination forecasting. The result indicates that the effect of the prediction by using this method is superior to other single model and its prediction curve coincide with the actual measured curve.
