The express highways of our country are gradually stretching from east regions to middle and west regions, and more and more express highways will be constructed. The geology conditions along the highways are more and more complicated, and the engineering difficulties constantly increase in middle and west regions. The most important element which influences the construction quality of express highway is roadbed settlement. If we want to guarantee the construction quality in the process of construction, we must know the changes of roadbed settlement, especially how to predict the settlement process. According to the problems in middle and west regions, studying roadbed settlement observation and settlement deformation characteristic can enrich and expand this field. At the same time, analyzing actual roadbed settlement observation data can predict the settlement process and then makes further optimum design, calculates construction time of all the structure layers, and improves construction technologies. All of these can supply scientific theory to construction decision.This article takes Xinxiang Yellow river express highway as example, according to the geologic conditions of Yellow river plain, and the characteristics of roadbed construction, and environmental condition, studies roadbed settlement deformation characteristics and the technology of construction control. Firstly, this article analyzes the present state of inside and outside of China of the soft foundation treatment and roadbed settlement prediction, and monitors roadbed settlement of the Xinxiang Yellow express highway after absorbing the ancient methods of settlement observation. Secondly, it introduces the job practice of which dry let mixing pile deals with soft soil foundation, and appraises the methods of foundation treatment and proves that the geonet-reinforcing soil cushion-DJMP is a good method, through monitoring the typical cross section of Xinxiang Yellow river express highway. Thirdly, it predicts the roadbed settlement using gray theory and proves gray prediction is a kind of perfect method and worthy to be extended and applied in practice. In the end, this article points out the influencing factors of roadbed stabilization and decides the control criterion of roadbed settlement in Xinxiang Yellow river express highway through analyzing practical data.
