The lime is mainly the material for the stabilization in our country presently. But it destructs and pollutes the environment, and also wastes the resources in the course of departed and calcined. Because of the characteristic of lime, it can easily produce the dust and affect the environment heavily in the construction site. So, it becomes emergent to develop a new type of stable material that will be profitable to the environment and solve the problems in road construction.The mineral constituent is one of the main characteristics, which illuminates the soil's formation. The mineral constituent has the critical effect to the soil's characteristic. The clay, which belongs to secondary mineral, is the most activist mineral constituent. So, the clay is mainly solidified when the soil is solidified.The application of TerraZyme is studied in this thesis. Because of the TerraZyme's instability in water, we look for appropriate material to maintain the stability. The right mixing proportions are designed. The soil of Thongchuan in Shanxi is solidified and three stabilization treatments to solidify the soil are put forward.First, the raw material tests are conducted to the soil and solidified material. We divide the mix into three types according to the different way of solidifying. Then, we conduct mechanical feature tests to each of the three types. After that, we finally determine the optimal mix proportions to each type. We also measure the CBR of each optimal mix and analysis with the X-diffraction and scanning electron microscope the stability of the samples and the mechanism of strength increase. The test road is build and it proves that the TerraZyme road has feasibility and superiority.Through building test road, we explore the technology of pavement, and treatment of road surface. For the strength feature of the road, we examine the CBR of the road surface by American method of DCP. We also analysis the reason why there exists strength difference between the test road in Tongchan and in-door experiment, and difference between the test road in Tongchan and road with American TerraZyme.This thesis is pioneers work in exploring the possible applications of TerraZyme to the road construction. We hope this work can be useful and have reference value for the use of TerraZyme.to the road solidifying construction in the future.
